How to dry spicimens of Dolichopodidae

To dry and mount specimens of Dolichopodidae from alcohol

1)  remove specimen and remove excess alcohol on a paper ;

2)  place specimen in ethyl  acetate for about 4 hours if small, 4-8 hours if large ;

3)  remove from ethyl acetate and allow to dry completelely at least for 2 hours ;

4)  Glue small specimens to a card point. If they are large, pin them from the thorax.
